Killer Whale, Orcinus Orca   (Sea Wolf)

Identification: Length up to 30 Ft. Large dorsal fin, jet black body, with white extending up the side posteriorly. It also has a white spot behind each eye and white under parts. Nose is blunt. The broad flippers are about about 1/6 of total length. There are 10 - 15 teeth on each side of the upper and lower jaws. Habits: Travels in packs 5 - 40.  Feeds on other whales, seals, sea lions, and fish. Swims at speeds up to 23 mph. Gestation period is about one year.  Range: Atlantic and Pacific Coasts.
